A smash hit lands in Lancaster as RAGTIME opens at the Fulton. This lavish production expertly directed by Alton Fitzgerald White/choreographed by Lorna Ventura comes on the heels of the recent Lincoln Center revival and definitely stands its own. The huge cast (a treat these days) handles the material effortlessly and when they all sing as a group the musicality shines. The principal cast is stacked, with broadway's Ben Fankhauser bringing beautiful depth to Tateh's journey. As Coalhouse, Erick D. Patrick carries intensity and gentility making his eventual fate all the more tragic, and Laurie Veldheer's "Back to Before" will leave you jumping from your seat to applaud. The ensemble too brims with star-power: Callie Anna Henrysen is delicious as Evelyn Nesbit, Alex Stone is unabashedly fierce as Willie Conklin, and Cody Gerszewski is a comedic chameleon of the highest caliber. Do not miss this seldom done show as it drives off into the sunset mid October.
